Leg Sugaring. Full Legs, Half Legs... we are covering it all!
I know, I KNOW. You HATE doing legs. Let me share with you a few tips and tricks and hopefully you will enjoy doing them.
First off, try creating packages. I now only do full leg sugaring if the client purchases a package of 3. They must commit to the service at least every 6 weeks and they must NOT shave. Sugaring sugared hair is much different than sugaring SHAVED hair. We want them to see the improvement and refinement that sugaring can bring them.
Second, try the side-lying position. Placing the client in this position is easier on your body. This will allow you to work most proficiently.
Third, ensure your paste is pliable. A firm paste will make your wrist work entirely too hard.
Lastly, analyze the clients skin and hair. Notice the direction all the hair is growing in before you begin. Have an idea of the process. I've noticed that what takes my students so long to do legs is: They do their molds and flicks for one pass, step back, look at their ball of paste, stare at the hairy leg overwhelmingly wondering where to go next. All the time you are "thinking" about where to go, is time wasted. When you watch seasoned sugarists, you will notice there isn't much time between their flicks and their next molds. Mold mold mold, flick flick flick, mold mold mold, flick flick flick! (and add a comfort press!)
IF YOU GET STUCK... move away from the stuck area and sugar what you can, come back to the stuck area. If you are pressed for time, getting unstuck may begin to make you panic for time lost. Take a breather, you got this!
If you see random missed hairs ... come back to them at the end for the clean up. Keep sugaring your larger molds and come back for the missed hairs. Before you remove the sugaring paste from your hands, ASK YOUR CLIENT to do an inspection. It kinda sucks (for a lack of better terms) to have to get some new sugar paste because the client found a strip of hairs. You want your client to be happy, get their approval BEFORE they leave your studio!
